The aim of the Concordia Internship Program is to find a suitable internship position with a company located in Turkey for European students of Higher and University Education. We have contacts in all sectors of the Turkish industry. Placement of each applicant is handled with care and utmost attention. Concordia's focus is to match the activities of the hosting company with the interests and study area of the student. For this purpose we ask students to provide us with detailed information on their interests as well as a letter describing their motivation and objectives.
Should there be no match for a worthy placement, Concordia holds the right to turn down the applicant at an early stage.
Following are the steps in the application and placement procedure:
- The student fills in the Application Form and emails it accompanied by a letter to ellen@concordiacom.com
- The signed original application form accompanied by a photo of the student (like in passport) should be sent by post to the following address:
Concordia Liaison Office Eski Büyükdere Cad. No:22 Park Plaza, Kat:19 Maslak 34398 Istanbul Turkey
- The educational institution where the student is registered has to fill in the School Form and fax it to the Concordia Liaison Office in Istanbul (fax no: +90 212 329 7899).
- Concordia starts selecting and contacting possible hosting companies
- The hosting company which accepts the student fills in an Employer Information Form and faxes it to Concordia which scans the form and emails it to the student.
- The student can start corresponding directly with the contact person at the hosting company regarding the task(s) or research s/he needs to do.
- If required, Concordia will assist the student in finding suitable accommodation for the internship period.
Before arriving in Turkey the student has to fax the following documents to Concordia:
- Copy of main passport page and the page showing the visa to enter Turkey (unless the student also has Turkish nationality). Further information on how to apply for a visa can be obtained from the Turkish Embassy or Consulate in the country of residence. (A tourist visa is generally valid for 3 months only. If you are planning to stay longer, you can apply for a staj/training visa. Do NOT apply for a ogrenim mesruhatli/study visa, this is for studying at a university.)
- Copy of certificate of health insurance issued by a European insurance company showing that the student has full health insurance coverage during his/her stay in Turkey.
Upon arrival in Turkey:
- Students who will be staying at a guesthouse will be met at the Istanbul airport by Concordia’s volunteer staff during work hours (9:00-18:00 hrs) on weekdays (Monday-Friday). If the student arrives before or after workhours, s/he will have to make his/her own arrangements for transfer from the airport and hotel accommodation for one night. S/he will be taken to the guesthouse the next day.
- In case the student needs to apply for a residence permit, s/he will be accompanied by Concordia’s volunteer staff to the local police headquarters to complete the necessary procedures.
